As a massage therapist, I have seen many benefits to a person's health and wellness. I have had the pleasure of being a massage therapist since 2003. I am a DoveStar Graduate, trained in Krya massage and energy work as well as having advanced training at SpaTech Institute and ABMP. Since my graduation, I have pursued additional therapies that have enhanced my practice. Oncology Healing Touch, Polarity, Reiki, Myofacial Release, Hot Stone, sports injury and joint replacement recovery are a few that I find to be a consistent need for my clients. After having been in the field for a few years, I found myself wanting to help others find their passion with massage therapy. I was involved with the students at Dove Star in Carver. My passion to help others expanded as a teacher and Director of Education at SpaTech in Plymouth, MA, manager at Massage Envy-Plymouth and Therapist at Massage Envy-Norwell, as well as having a private practice with Dr. Michael Rogers, DCM, DABCO in Pembroke. I currently have a private practice in Pembroke at Natural Remedies Massage on Route 139. Having a private practice has allowed me to utilize all of my skills with the diverse needs of my clients. I am also the Author of "Compromised Care Touch". A book about simple massage for people whose body has been compromised by a disease, like cancer or stroke, or if the treatment has changed the care needed.
The greatest gift of understanding the human body is realizing the connection that our spiritual and emotional being has on our physical body. All three are connected and cannot be divided. Which means as a therapist, I need to have an understanding of how the intangible (spirit & emotion) has on the tangible (physical). When a client has stress from emotional, home, work, family or many other areas, it plays a large roll in the strain on a muscle, tendon or ligament not to mention any organ. Releasing the stress that goes along with the physical strain is the key piece to a complete massage. That's where the training of Krya Massage is different from any other massage school. It was designed to treat the whole person and not just the muscles. This type of massage enhances a session of every client but especially those battling major ailments. It is this work that brought me to work with terminally ill clients. At first I really didn't understand the connection but I was seeing the results. The clients that would have a massage 24-48 hours before any chemotherapy or radiation were able to receive better treatment with less side effects on their physical body. For the past 15 years I have worked with many different cancer clients and they all felt massage enhanced their quality of life. Clients that are under hospice care find that massage allows them to relax, get a good night sleep, are more alert during the day and have less strain on their body. Massage is not a cure, but a way to live better in your body. This has also expanded my desire to teach loved ones how to touch those effected with cancer. It is not a full massage program but a simple way that love ones can help learn to touch with loving, conscious touch.
I have a Bachelor's degree from Southeastern Mass University in Education, Early Childhood Infant/Toddler EEC, MA-Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, Polarity Associate, Advanced Oncology Massage and trained in many additional modalities. I have a very diverse background in Education and business which enhances my ability to work with clients with a wide range of issues and ailments. My goal is to enhance each clients life one massage at a time. I have created my own lotion/oil product that seems to be working wonders for my clients. It's a natural, plant based product with cannibals oil, Arnica oil, peppermint and other essentials oils to create this amazing product that assists in you bodies natural ability to alleviate pain, discomfort, loosen muscles and more.
