Holistic Lotions

Just a little bit about lotions.  Massage therapists have so many different types of lotions, oils and creams available to them. How do you figure out which one is right for you?  Well first I would start with what you may be allergic to and eliminate that. Then, know what you like and start from there.  Most massage lotions come from somewhat of a natural product but then they have additives if the company would like a shelf life to their product.  Not all additives are bad for you, and some are usually irrelevant to the user.  Then a therapist can add their own essential oils, either they make them or purchased.  The big thing here is knowing if they are a scented oil or and essential oil.  The difference has to do with the strength and the process of extraction.  Just take the time to ask questions and know where the product comes from.

The lotion I use is a natural, essential lotion that has some purchased properties but mostly I defuse my oils from plants and use them in my own lotion.  I started this product because I wasn't pleased with the products available to Therapists.  I needed a product that was completely beneficial to the client without compromising the massage ability or leaving the client greasy.  It is a base of olive oil, coconut oil, vitamin E, Jojoba oil, these are blended together until they are a thick, creamy consistency.  I then add the essential oils to meet the needs of my clients.  I use my oils and lotion in all my massages.

Arnica: comes from the Dandelion plant, medicinal value of healing soft tissue, anti inflammatory, pain reliever.

Calendula: comes from the marigold plant has been known to have antiseptic properties, which are helpful for treating wounds and preventing acne. As a skin conditioner, Calendula Extract stimulates collagen production and it also reduces the occurrence of dry skin.

Peppermint: comes from the peppermint plant. Peppermint oil as well as leaves have a cooling effect when used topically for muscle pain, nerve pain, relief from itching, or as a fragrance.

Lemongrass: comes from the Lemongrass plant. Which can be used to make citronella as it is a natural bug repellent but also as an antiseptic, hence their use in household disinfectants and soaps.

Cannabis oil: This seems to be the latest craze and for good reason. The benefits of this oil is amazing.  There are many different types of cannabis plants, (I think if it like the pine tree, there are many different types of these too). After years of research and testing I have found 4 different types of cannabis plants are the perfect combination for my topical use.  I want a product that is easy to grow in the New England weather, Yields a larger plant and has a blend of the CBD, CBG and THC component.   I have my oils and final lotions tested to get the exact levels of these components.

The combination of these essential oils with the natural lotion creates a lotion that assists in the natural healing properties of the bodies soft tissues.

Feel free to reach out to me for more information and details about my lotions.
